Santana was founded in 1976 by Bill McCready. He was an associate editor at Bicycling Magazine in La Verne, California. Since then, the brand has reinvented itself as one of the leading manufacturers of Tandem Bicycles. These days Santana produces the lightest tandems, which are built using steel and aluminum. By 2003, Santana made yet another revolution by introducing the world with the first-ever weldable carbon fiber tandem.
