Launched by Bob Girvin, ProFlex was a premier brand of full-suspension mountain bikes. He was a revolutionary frame and fork designer credited with the invention of Flexstem, the first aftermarket suspension for mountain bikes. He turned to creating suspension on frame, which gave birth to the first suspension frame bike, the Offroad brand RF-1 in 1990. Later in 1994, it was morphed into ProFlex, a technologically advanced model. It was named the best new recreational product and also the ‘Suspension Bike of the Year’ in 1996. By 1997, ProFlex launched a total of 48 bikes with six major models.
