Peugeot, a French bicycle manufacturing firm, was founded by Jean Pequignot Peugeot in 1886. The brand started mass production of the Big-Bi bicycle model (1.36 m wheel at the front and a small 40 cm at the rear) in 1886. Peugeot began production at the Beaulieu plant in 1990. In 1992, it established a New Peugeot cycles company, and in later years, it launched aluminum bicycles. In 2011, Peugeot became the first French brand to develop 29-inch mountain bikes. Peugeot has launched urban, compact, electric, and hybrid bikes currently.
