In operation since 1890 as a rifle barrel manufacturer, Miyata has been a number 1 choice amongst bicycle riders due to its versatility and durability. The famous Japanese manufacturer claims to be the first flash-butt welded frame tubes and electrostatic painting in Japan. Apart from this, Miyata founder Eisuke Miyata, who made the components for rickshaws, also states to be Japan's first safe bike producer. In 1979, Miyata started producing racing bikes for the European cycle pro team and started penetrating the international market.
